Helpful Tips
Use Codiac Transpo's Moovit app for real-time bus tracking across Moncton.
The Maritime Bus terminal on Main Street connects to Halifax and PEI with frequent departures.
Downtown parking meters accept coins or the HotSpot app for mobile payment.
The Riverfront Trail has a 5km bike path connecting Magnetic Hill to downtown.
Common Scams to Avoid
Unlicensed "taxi" drivers inside the terminal claim the regular taxi queue is closed and offer a flat-rate ride, often 30, 50 % above the metered fare. Politely decline, walk to the official taxi stand outside Arrivals, and confirm the driver starts the meter.
Rental-car shuttle drivers suggest an "airport surcharge" or extra fee for luggage handling that is not part of the company's published charges. Verify any add-on with the counter staff before accepting the shuttle ride.
Currency-exchange kiosks on the landside level advertise "no commission" but bury a poor exchange rate in the fine print. Compare the displayed rate against the mid-market rate on your phone and, if it's markedly worse, wait to exchange downtown or use an ATM.
